Spring Is Around The Corner!! (Apparently)

8th fairway 7:30am
As I arrived at work this morning I could hear the waterfall roaring away and that is when I knew we'd had a lot of rain (yes I had a good, early nights sleep last night and didnt here a thing!) I checked our weather meter and saw that 24mm of rain fell overnight on top of a few centimetres of snow. Not good for the days play!! After inspecting the course at around 7.00 am it was apparent very quickly that we needed to give it a rest to allow the water to soak away. Which is why we decided to close and then re-inspect at 10:30. After inspecting again the water has drained very well, and to be fair, I  am very surprised at how well it has drained. However its still too wet to play.

We also have a problem with our overflow next to the waterfall on the first. This helps to drain the lake when the water gets too much for the waterfall to take. There has been that much water washing over it over the past few months or so that it is starting to wash away! This needs to be sorted as soon as possible and the relevant people have already been informed.

1st overflow 10:40am

On a lighter note, the weather looks as if its on the up over the next few days, so the gravel banding to the greens will go ahead as planned. Starting on monday morning. We will more than likely be starting this work on the 12th hole and working our way around the course one green at a time. The hole will still be open for play, however the temporary green will be in use.
Again, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to comment below.
Regards
Leigh
